This Year's Medicare Open Enrollment Ends December 7, 2013

Just want to share a reminder that this year's Medicare Open Enrollment ends December 7, 2013. If you are 65 or older or on Social Security disability this is the program you use to get insurance in place or to change Medicare insurance programs.

Do not be confused by the Affordable Care Act and its insurance programs because it does not provide services for those who or 65 and older and are eligible for Medicare.

Also if you currently have some type of Medicare insurance and a prescription program you are happy with then you do not have to change.

If you need information about Medicare programs in your state contact your state's State Health Insurance Assistance Program also known as SHIP.

What is SHIP?
SHIP is a free health benefits counseling service for Medicare beneficiaries and their families or caregivers. The mission of SHIP is to educate, advocate, counsel and empower seniors to make informed healthcare benefit decisions. SHIP is an independent program funded by Federal agencies and is not affiliated with the insurance industry.
